-Bride and groom must appear either in the courthouse
or before a special notary who has the authority
to issue confidential marriage licenses outside of the courthouse.
Again, photo ID with proof of age is required.
You must be 18 years of age
-If a divorce has taken place in the last 90 days,
a decree must be presented
-No blood test is required
-Both parties must swear in writing
that they have already been living together
-Marriage ceremony may be performed ONLY in San Diego county
-The marriage recored will be maintained as "Confidential"
and ONLY the bride or groom may obtain copies
of the marriage certificate
EXCEPT by order of the Superior Court
-The cost for the license is $80 from the county, however
notaries may charge an additional fee of up to $100

-Both parties must then appear together in our office
and have the following documents:
-One form of valid photo ID with proof of age and birth certificate
-Judge's consent
-Parental consent
-A premarital counseling letter
-If either party has been granted a divorce within 90 days,
a copy of the decree must be presented.
To obtain a Judge's consent,
all of the items above must be taken to the clerk of the Juvenile court,
CALL FIRST.
The clerk will present it to a Judge directly for their signature.
This is done prior to the license being issued by the county.
